An EMR is a health record that is kept in digital form for ease of storage and transmission. An EMR patient profile contains key information such as family medical history, existing medical conditions, medical history, list of current and past medications, list of surgeries, information regarding surgeries and food and medicine allergies as well as insurance information, contact information and the name of the primary care physician.
